Telus and Nvidia are partnering to build a "sovereign AI center" in eastern Quebec, deploying Nvidia's AI chips in Telus's Rimouski data center by summer and expanding to Kamloops, British Columbia. The center will initially have 500 graphic processing units with potential for thousands more and will use natural cooling. Telus aims to catalyze AI adoption in Canada and be Nvidia's first North American cloud partner. Nvidia anticipates significant revenue from data center infrastructure by 2028.
